У нашего товарища подобный случай произошёл прошлым летом в 30 градусную жару.
Дилер отказал в гарантийном ремонте.

Situation
In an effort to reduce the occurrence of hydro-locked power heads following a panic
stop maneuver, Mercury Marine has relocated (raised) the exhaust relief opening in the
exhaust pipe. This modification will provide an additional margin of tolerance to
customers who unintentionally perform this maneuver.
These hydro-lock damaged power heads are not covered under warranty. Customers
who are replacing a power head due to a hydro-lock should be encouraged to also
upgrade to the new exhaust pipe.
Exhaust Pipe Replacement – 75/80/90/100/115 FourStroke (2.1L)
IMPORTANT: Refer to Outboard Service Manual 90-8M0109954 for in depth
service procedures.
Disassembly
1. Drain the engine sump.
2. Remove top and lower cowls. Refer to Section 5A Lower Cowl - Removal.
3. Remove the gear housing. Refer to Section 6A/B/C, Gear Housing Removal.
4. Remove the fuel supply module. Refer to Section 3C, FSM Removal.
5. Remove the speedometer tube from the fitting on the driveshaft housing.
6. Remove the fuel supply module water supply hose and block drain hoses from
the water strainer. Refer to Section 5B, Driveshaft Housing/Adaptor Plate
Disassembly.
7. Remove the lower mount bolt and locknut from both the Port and Starboard
lower mounts. Refer to Section 5A, Lower Mounts.
8. Remove the driveshaft housing from the adapter plate. Refer to Section 5B,
Driveshaft Housing/Adaptor Plate Disassembly.
9. Remove the exhaust pipe from the adaptor plate. Refer to Section 5B, Adaptor
Plate/Oil Pump.
New Exhaust Pipe
Note: The new exhaust pipe is identified by higher location of the exhaust relief
hole.
